Paintball Sniper: How Effective Are They?

You might ask, how effective is the position of sniper in the game of paintball? You might doubt that it is even existed. The very fact that paintball marker shoots out paintball instead of metal bullets, the accuracy of the shoot is questionable. Moreover, the range of a paintball marker is limited and chronographed to the maximum of 300 fps makes the shooting range quite similiar among all marker brands and this makes woodsball sniper marksmanship much difficult. Of course, some new barrel in the market such as Tippmann Flatline Barrel, accuracy and range were claimed to be better than the norm.

However, before you throw sniper position out of your woodsball game, you better check out the video below. When deployed properly, sniper position can be devastating to the opponents. Instead of relying of the range and accuracy of their marker, they rely more on stealth and camouflage to provide surprise and ambush attack. So, one shot one kill still applies and carries much weight in a game of woodsball.

Still not convinced yourself? Try to spot the sniper in his ghillie suit in this video and then you will understand what I meant by "One Shot, One Kill."
